Such a shame...
So many things to tell... but no one to share with and so have to resort to this impersonal friend...
Today it was a very nice day! :) I am very happy with the French hospitality which is just way beyond the imagination! Today got another glimpse of it! Rather I lived that experience!
One of the French ajjis took Amy n me to a nearby Marche de Noel... wow! It was freezing cold! around 4 degrees and extremely cold wind with cloudy sky! But the atmosphere in that small village just took away our "weahther depression"! After strolling for some time in that small market, full of life and artisnal articles, we entered a small town librabry... We were there to visit a postal art exhibition... Apparently there's one French man who's passionate about collecting decorative envelpos and post cards... it includes various envelops made with a vague imagination, some bt some professionals and some by simple amatures, but giving it a very different touch by their simplicity! :) He found his source of inspiration in one of the 'juna bajars' where he found some beatutiful handmade envelops dating way back in 17th n 18th century! There he deiced to collect all such type of envelops and cards! Today he has around 4000 envelops of such sort and he has exhibited his collection in various places including very famous museums of Paris! Indeed he was present there and he was just about to start his workshop for discovering the art! Wow!! such a rare occasion! We hesitated in the first place though... but our decision of attending it was really good!
I will never forget this workshop! The idea behind this wonderful 'art postal' is to make happy your destinataire! These days the habit of writing letters is losing it's place with the internet and email... We receive many boring letters from electricit board, bank, insurance company etc... But just imagine... in all these boring and depressing letters if one day you receive a smartly decorated enevelop!!?? It can even make your day! So that was the main idea behind it... to bring a smile on the face of your near and dear ones just by sending them a card decorated all by you whole heartedly, just for them!
We had to decorate the card/ envelop according to the theme of the stamp... All the raw material was provided... from cardboards, envelops, stamps, color pencils, glitters, decorative scissors, cutters and even some ideas!! We spent around 2 hours in that fun workshop which at the end turned out to be a discovery of our own imagination which we thought was lost somewhere! :)
yay!! vive la poste!
It has been more or less seven years that I am away from home, exploring greater horizons. As this lifestyle has its advantages, it also presents some disadvantages. At times, I find myself with no one to talk to!! Since talking and communicating are some of my basic necessities, this blog gives me a satisfaction of sharing what goes on my mind and I hope you will enjoy reading about it! Don't hesitate to give me your feedback! Happy reading!
